And they say that people are OVERmedicated!

Unlike the previous entry, this one is based on a real story.

Some people, notably Scientologists, say that we, as a society, overmedicate people, especially for ADHD. Well, I say... get this judge some ritalin!
Judge John Sloop, of Seminole Co., Florida, is blaming his ADHD for his somewhat strange behavior, which resulted in 11 people who had been directed to the wrong courtroom being arrested, strip-searched, and jailed for 9 hours.

Any thoughts on this?

If I believed in ADHD I would say hell yeah. But I don't. Speaking of elephants...

I hear people get it whether they believe in it or not...

Q: How many people with ADHD does it take to screw in a light bulb?
A: Let's go outside!

Actually it's just one of those things where I show all the signs and my GPA and work performance definitely suffer from my habit of spacing out, but I don't see it as a disorder and I am always amazed by people that claim that it ruins their lives. I suppose that's why I'm happy that there are books out called The Gift of ADHD.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I am still waiting for that manic episode where I will stay up for three days straight and write 400 pages of dissertation. I only seem to get the other pole, though. But I am waiting.

I blew a couple of weekends to write a 31-page paper after a semester of procrastinating and not knwoing what the hell I wanted to talk about. The teacher gave me an A and told me to submit it to peer review (I will, just as soon as I can look at the thing - right now I'm still exhausted from the thought of it).

On the other hand, not every teacher likes my style and I get graded down for doing the same things that gets me A's.

This doesn't sound like ADHD, it sounds psychotic. Padded cells for everyone!

I was wondering that myself, unless he means that he sort of forgot about them and moved on to other things...

Do people with ADHD really forget right and left? I thought they just couldn't focus as well. Hm, maybe this guy has multiple personalities...

It sounds like he suffers from Dumbassery, and is trying to cover himself.

Don't make fun of Dumbassery, no condition so utterly resistant to treatment should be made fun of!!:)
