GOP debate

The best part of that latest GOP debate was Alan Keyes, who I think was probably included at the behest of the Ron Paul people in order to make Paul seem sane. I loved it when he would get the crazy eyes and, voice quivering, refer to himself obliquely in the third person, painting himself as the victim of a vast conspiracy by the Iowa media. I was waiting for him to start talking to his invisible friend Merle, and complain about the food that they serve in the hospital on Wednesdays.
Besides that, man those guys are stiffs. McCain is the only one who is even slightly worth a tinker’s damn, and even then not by much. I can honestly say that I would vote for any of the Democrats over any of the Republicans.

Well, that's not always the case, it hasn't been in the past, but this time...

I listened to the debate while doing something else and was never sure which was Keyes and which was Paul. At one point Keyes said something particularly nasty about Romney and Gulianni and the moderator offered each a chance to comment. I was hoping one would simply say "No need to reply. Never kick a squatting dog."

Favorite stupidity: (Tankredo?) what to do about global warming -- leave it to the market. What not let that work for crime or terrorism, too?

McCain has been a lickass for 6 years. Gulianni is a hothead and a fraud, but at least he has a quick sense of humor. Romney might be a secret scientologist. ( His favorite novel is Battlefield Earth by L. Ron Hubbard) Besides, he was a management consultant, which is the republican equivalent of plaintiff lawyer or prostitute.

And roll the rest together and you get pat buchannan.
