I just noticed that for some bizarre reason, the last two entries were made while listening to Herman's Hermits. I feel the need to clarify that those are, in fact, the only two Herman's Hermits songs that I have, and that it is some sort of bizarre coincidence that I was listening to them at those specific times. I am not sure how this could have happened. No offense to Mr. Noone and company, of course, but I just sort of feel the need to issue some kind of disclaimer about that.

Noone here complaining

My freshman roommate had a fetish for the Hermits and I listened to his extensive collection of "Henry the Eighth" versions that year. Who knew they recorded it so many times. It's still going through my head and can only be supplanted by the thenme from Welcome Back Kotter.

Re: Noone here complaining

Well I am still glad that I noticed it. It seems like something I should explore in therapy. My hypothesis is that "I'm Henry the Eighth I am" comes from a period during the British Invasion when absolutely anything from Britain would have been popular. 4 guys from Liverpool probably could have recorded themselves brushing their teeth or snoring, released it in America, and watched it climb up the charts.

Now that I think about it, didn't Brian Wilson try to make an album like that?

Maybe more of a lifestyle than a production. Did you ever see that documentary on him that Don Was made? I haven't but would like to.

Is that "I wasn't made for times like these?" That has been on my list of things to see that I haven't managed to see. I did watch that movie of the week they made about the Beach Boys a couple of years ago...at least they did include the bizarre connections with Manson and his entourage.
