This article is pretty long, but it is definitely worth a look- an investigation into and brief history of Scientology. Learn secrets previously only known to those such as Isaac "Chef" Hayes and Lisa Marie Presley. Seriously, this is an interesting thing, and that organization is run by, it would seem, frightening and wicked people.
But then someone as suppressive as me WOULD say that, wouldn't I?

In other news, I am off to cute central to spend the whole day babysitting the duo of cuteness that is my niece and nephew. I should have some good pictures.

Again I feel the need to say "People think Mormons are strange?"

Damn, Gina. I knew they were cracked, but I had no idea. Holy freakin' cow.

What a great icon!

Speaking of LDS, did you see "Big Love," and if so what did you think?

No, and it doesn't even sound familiar. I just Netflixed it, but it's not out yet. We don't get HBO at our apartment. I might have to see if I can DL it from somewhere. Looks like some pretty funny stuff, though.

Just read the entire article.

First question: They say that most religions are based on the world being bad and religion giving us the answer (paraphrase) (and by 'they' i mean the writer or the scholars interviewed, not the christian scientists)...

Do you think there's anything like that in Judaism? Because I sure don't. I know that they've said that the Old Testament lord is supposed to be angry and vengeful, and sure he is, but don't we also always sing about how wonderful and understanding he is and such? I don't know, as a jew, I have never one day in my life found the world as 'bad' and that turning to god would make it better. Instead its more like the world is what it is, but while we're here if we make peace with ourselves and with god and just be good to everyone, things will be allright.

I don't know if that makes sense. :)

Anyways, the rest of the article SCREAMS cult. I mean, come on. The way they don't let you leave??? Or, how's this, someone tried to get me to sell certain makeup products for them, involving myself in a pyramid scheme, which I of course said no to. But, anyways, that sounds JUST LIKE the lower levels of Scientology. I wonder if any of those people selling $4,000 sessions are getting a cut of the money or something. Maybe incentive bonuses?

Man, the whole thing is freaky, especially when you have good sources standing up and saying that Hubbard had expressly had an interest in starting his own religion.

plus my icon is just so on point.
