It seems odd, or perhaps not so odd, that the only journalists around today who will routinely call the right-wing noise machine on their BS are Keith Olbermann and Jon Stewart. But it is true. I am becoming more and more convinced that those people are performing more of a public service than anyone else in the journalistic community. Check out Olbermann calling out Bill O'Reilly for not only getting some very important facts wrong, but for not checking them and continuing to cite them, even in the least appropriate of circumstances. God Bless Olbermann.
For the other half of this duo, here is video from last night's Daily Show, in which Jon Stewart gives Bill Bennett an important lesson in civics and humanity. God Bless Stewart.

Yes, I've noticed that, too. When political officials or gurus come on the Daily Show, Jon Stewart asks the most engaging, difficult questions. Other journalists basically ask questions that allow people to speak their press releases.

By the way, I find your icon amusing because in these parts the only people I see who have that flag up are rural, Confederate types.

I have noticed that as well. I think it originated in South Carolina. But in any case, it seems like it is due to be reclaimed by those who are worried about liberties, so I was trying to do my part.

oh man, i am on to these guys too.
and olberman and stewart really ARE the go to guys.

yesterday i saw a raving liberal reporter who was kinda off the bend...but i was too tired to kick ass and take names.

we are in a bad journalistic cycle right now. i hope it all comes around and takes a big ol turn.

Forget Katie Couric... Olbermann for anchor!
Lousy with your good time...

That was one of the single best episodes of the Daily Show ever, entirely for Jon's behavior there.

I love watching people squirm when he get's going. It's like they don't realize how smart he is when he decides to "aim it."

The guy he was talking to was weak...Jon should try to interview a guy who's not so weak.

Taking this guy down was too easy.
