I would say you can't go wrong with chocolate. You know she likes the kind that is so bitter and dark that the rest of us couldn't even eat it! Whole Paycheck, ahem, Foods has lots of that kind of chocolate.
Oh, and anything with fish on it. How's she fixed for fish mugs?

May I ask if it will be two or three of you? Which is to say would you be planning something child-friendly?
I'd suggest oversized stuffed toys, chocolate, late-night horror movies, dinner someplace where you can sit on cushions:)

I guess that would be a good thing to figure out. I like the idea of eating somewhere where we sit on cushions. Thanks!

japonese or ethiopian are good for cushion sitting. chocolate- always a winner. or, make reservations with us in nueva york at Gobo- fabulous veggie restaurant, which has sort of reasonable priced prix fixe for the evening. last year we had amazing vegan chocolate mint brownie sundays for desert, with little chocolate heart discs on them. yum.

Museum shops are a good place to find gifts (unusual/creative jewelry or scarves, for example) as are funky little stores or the better flea markets stalls that sell similar merchandise.

Thanks! That's a good idea.
Sorry we couldn't get to your reading, but we had a lot of complication and being sick and preparing my Mom to move and the like.

Sorry to hear about the sickness. רפואה שלמה Yesterday's reading was only the first of three; tomorrow I'm driving up to Massachusetts for two readings in Cambridge (tomorrow night at 106 Prospect St, and Thursday evening at the Tremont Street Shul).
