OK, so I am putting together the final list; what do you out there in LJ land think would be good wedding songs? What should be our first dance? Will people think less of us if we use the Ramones for that? Anyone know any good horas?

the best wedding songs are the ones that mean something to YOU.

we had a corny one for our first dance...because i love tony bennett and i love the song (time after time, a sinatra standard)

we also danced to Born to Run, because chuck has always maintained that it is a killer love song.

we also had songs that were special during our courtship...songs that made us smile...and just stuff we loved.

pick some johnny cash...we had some hank williams. i had to have steely dan...we cut our cake to sade's 'by your side' and of course we had "susie q"

then you can make a cd to play all the time when you want to remember your day.

It's been an iTunes playlist for quite some time; we refine it while driving around.

We did Elvis for the march up the aisle:) So I vote for the King.

The King? You mean Chuck Berry?

But I don't like Elvis enough to debate this:(

(Off to listen to Chuck Berry, whom I've never heard of before.)

Although there are many other contenders for the title, his 'Maybelline' is one of the possibilities for the first Rock n Roll record. Among other accomplishments.

Sinatra should be there.

We used "Can I Steal a Little Love?" for our dance.

Re: Sinatra should be there.

The current leader for that is Little Wing.

we had 'True Colours' by Cyndi Lauper to walk up the isle to, and came out to Steve Vai 'Liberty', from Passion and Warfare. Our First dance was to 'When love walked in' by Thunder. :)

I think that the first dance will be Little Wing by the Jimi Hendrix Experience, but it might be the Ramones' I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend.

You might also want to consider that with a big enough sound system the dramatic fight music from Star Trek is always appropriate.

Now THAT'S an interesting suggestion...
