Final bachelor post!!!

Current Mood: excitedexcited
probably.
Sunday is the big day! I am excited, but also totally frazzled and worn out. I am looking forward to being married, but the wedding... at this point I would just rather sleep. I guess that since all the work is done I should enjoy it. But yesterday will be known in history as The Day That Everything Went Wrong. The ketubah wasn’t going to be matted in time, so we had to have them do an emergency temp job (after having it for only 3 weeks! Thanks Corners!) The wedding ring, which had been promised several times to be here in plenty of time is not, and will not. It is, in fact, still in Israel. The guy was very sorry. Thanks Zionjudaica.com! The musicians for the ceremony called this morning to say that they had double booked themselves, so... they were sorry too. Thanks musicians! They did find us a replacement who immediately called and asked for more money. Not like we had much choice!
But enough of the kvetch. I just needed to get that out of my system.
I am missing Stefanie a lot since we are separated until the wedding day. So I am cranky and nervous and stressed. But I also know that this is going to be great, and I am so happy that I found her and that Stefanie and I will be married. Yay!

Some thoughts on marriage-

"A man's marriage partner is from the Holy One." - Genesis Rabbah 68:3

"Who is rich? Rabbi Akiva said: He who has a wife comely in her deeds." - Babylonian Talmud, Shabbat 25b

"When a man weds a wife who is right for him, Elijah kisses him and the Holy One loves him." - Derekh Eretz Rabbah 1

"Rabbi Tanhum said in the name of Rabbi Hanilai: When a man is without a wife, he lives without joy, without blessing, without good. In the west, they added: Also without Torah, without a protecting wall. Rava bar Ulla added: Also without peace." - Babylonian Talmud, Yevamot 62b
